INTRODUCTION:
In Treatment of Nausea Ondem Syrup blocks the action of chemicals in the body that can make you feel or be sick. It is often used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused by cancer chemotherapy and radiation treatment (in adults and children aged 4 years and older). It is usually taken both before and after chemotherapy or radiation. This medicine helps you recover more comfortably from these treatments. It is also effective at preventing nausea and vomiting after an operation (in adults only). The dose will depend on what you are being treated for but always take this medicine as it is prescribed.
How to use:
During radiotherapy, chemotherapy, abdominal infection, or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body start releasing a chemical called serotonin directly into the blood. Later, this stimulates special centers in the body that are responsible for inducing vomiting in your child. Giving Ondem Syrup just before the procedure helps block the effect of this chemical on vomiting centers of the brain and prevents vomiting.

- Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Ondem Syrup is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Ondem Syrup is recommended. - Liver : CAUTION - Ondem Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ondem Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor. In severe liver disease, do not exceed the prescribed dose and consult your child’s doctor.

Q. What is Ondem Syrup used for?::: Ondem Syrup is generally given before any major surgery or before chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions. In case your child is about to undergo any of the above procedures, the doctor may ask you to give Ondem Syrup to your child to prevent vomiting post-procedure. Apart from this, Ondem Syrup is also found useful in treating vomiting caused due to diseases of the stomach. In such a case, your child’s doctor may prescribe giving Ondem Syrup to your child for a few days. Stick to the dose for best results.| Q. What if my child takes too much Ondem Syrup?::: Ondem Syrup is unlikely to cause harm if you give an extra dose by mistake. However, you must still speak to your child’s doctor immediately. Sometimes, excessive intake of Ondem Syrup can cause some serious side effects like excess sleepiness, agitation, rapid heartbeat, hypertension, flushing, dilated pupils, sweating, involuntary muscle jerk, uncontrolled eye movements, overactive reflexes, and seizures.
